We recently completed This is a three story Bruno CRE installation that consisted of one 90 degree turn and three 180 degree turns.
We were able to set the rail with three guys and a little over an hour with assistance from tricks we’ve learned along the way. We start our installations by preparing the cleats and setting them on their appropriate steps in accordance with the provided cad drawings marking the lower landing with masking tape, we lay out where the rail should terminate at the bottom. At this point we can set the lower rail starting with the bottom cleat first.
By using a digital angle finder. We set the uppermost cleat once our desired Angle has been achieved. Do not worry with getting the middle cleat set until the upper is done to reduce the number of needed adjustments. Another trick that saves a little backache is how we can doing the two rails together? When combining an upperr Rail with the lower rail Use a screwdriver or scratch out and place the bolts to aid in quickly aligning the two rails and reducing the weight With the screwdriver in the bolt hole.
We once again use our angle finder and set the upper cleat to reduce the weight. Now we can insert the bolts for conjoining the rails without struggling to support the rail. To ensure a smooth joint we use the supplied wooden shims and a pair of vice grips to align the upper profile of the rail before tightening. Repeating this process for the remaining rails will increase efficiency while reducing strain from the rails weight. After all rails are joined, then start confirming your distances off the bullnose of the steps. Off the wall at your bends, and then on your straight Runs. We have found that following this procedure makes our bruno CRE installs as efficient as possible.
